I am the co-founder of Writers' Bloc, a group set up to encourage new and amateur writers in Mumbai. The group conducts workshops for new writers on writing skills, business writing and similar topics. The group aims to provide support to new writers giving free advice and direction towards paying markets and other avenues for publication of their work. 

New and amateur writers wanting advice, help or good ol' encouragement can write in to Writers' Bloc.

Resources for Writers

Being a writer is often a solitary job. With the advent of the Internet, however, help is at hand! There are hundreds of sites for writers, on every imaginable topic. The best way to glean advice is to subscribe to the free newsletters on many of these sites. 

Some of my favorite sites are :

www.newbie-writers.com  (I highly recommend their Forum for all writers) and www.writing-world.com  .
